Referral Guidelines

Over the years the guidelines for Cochlear Implantation have gradually changed. This has arisen for many reasons but primarily because:

we have gained more experience in understanding the importance of assessment and selection;

both the hardware and software associated with Cochlear Implants have improved with each generation.

We have written some new guidelines to help patients and their families think about the referral process. The guidelines are just that and not tablets of stone. We offer a service to all patients so that an appropriate and informed decision can be made.
