What We Need
We have come a long way in the last two years, together with the suport from Bradford Royal Infirmary we have created a centre of excellence. The new Listening For Life Centre will be the pivotal centre for YCIS. We will manage the assessment of the neonates, children and adults referred to us with severe to profound hearing losses.
Since we moved in in March '09 we have held numerous workshops, National and International meetings in the Shears Foundation Lecture Hall
We still need significant funds to complete equiping the centre. Some of the equipment we need includes:
- screening otoacoustic emissions
- automated brain stem audiology screening tympanometer
- diagnostic otoacoustic auditory emissions
- visual re-enforced audiology tests
- Meg SS3 free field warbler
- aurical hearing aid test box[/bp-POCIA MRC hearing aid hardware
- computers, adderlink boxes and printers
- biologic NAV Pro steady state evoked potential
an the important piece - Sound Localisation Laboratory this will be housed in one of the three paediatric audiological booths.
And the cost? We estimate £300,000.
